Ghaziabad: Two people have been arrested from the Kavi Nagar area for allegedly posing as political leaders and police officers.
According to the police, the duo was used to suppress police officers and other government employees for the purposes of transfers and posts.
“The defendant used to force police officers to release criminals too,” an officer said.
The defendant has been identified as Harsh (20) and Vikrant (19), both of them come from Baghpat.
Both the youth, the 12 fainted, had deceived the police for the past year.
Abhay Mishra, Circle Officer, Kavi Nagar, said that for the past few months, the defendant was used to call senior police officers and pose as a politician, listening to who the officers would trust them and follow their instructions.
“However, when the defendant summoned and contacted other police officers, they were under our radar.
The defendant called a senior officer with different numbers disguised as a different politician.
We began to track their calls and managed to track the culprit.
On Monday, we arrested.

Mishra said that the defendant would buy a SIM card on a fake ID to call government employees and police officers.
The defendant used a SIM card for one employee and so the work was finished, they would solve it.
The police said it was difficult to distinguish between the voices of criminals and the people they were imperasional.
“The duo told us that before calling, they used to watch videos from several known politicians, including local politicians.
They used to speak the same way,” he added.
Both were ordered under 417 (punishment for cheating), 419 (penalty for cheating with personation), 420 (cheating and dishonest encouraging property shipping) IPC.
The defendant was sent to detention on Tuesday after being produced before the district court.
