Pune: Some districts in the state, with high covid testing levels, still do not trace enough close contact per case confirmed.
Maharashtra currently tracks an average of 16 people for each patient.
But some of the main districts – including pune, nagpur, ahmednagar and kolhapur – traced lower than average.
In Pune District, for example, the authorities track the average of only 13 close contacts per case.
Related officials from the Ministry of Health said they had asked all local authorities to increase supervision, especially considering the Delta variant, which experts said were more contagious.
The Minister of Health of Rajesh Tope said that at least 20 contacts must be tracked per patient.
According to the data distributed by the State Health Department, only Thane and the latch who traced a number of good contacts, each average of 23 and 46 people (the highest in the state).
The center also calls for adequate search, testing and isolation.
“Increasing Contact Search is very important.
There should be no setback on the numbers tracked,” said the Ministry of Health officials.
Data of the Ministry of Health shows that most districts track less than the average state of 16 close contact per patient – six high risk and 10 low risks.
Officials said the ideal number must be more than 20, to ensure the cluster was stopped from the establishment.
Pune District, with an average of 13 contacts tracked (and among the regions seeing a high number of cases), also asked to increase contact contacts.
Only about three high-risk contacts per patient are tracked in the current district.
The member of the State Task Force said the tracking and contact testing was very important.
“Contact searches must be increased to 1:30 and 1:50.
The current number is very bad.
We cannot be sluggish in the front,” said the DR Shashank Joshi Task Force.
Members say examples such as kolhapur, with a high level of prospective despite increased coverage of vaccination, the average authority must be careful for breakthrough infections – covid after inoculation.
