Coimbatore: The day after a 39-year-old woman who runs a beauty salon near Somanur Bus stood on the outskirts of the city hanging to death at her house in Karumathampatti, the police arrested her lover on Thursday due to suicide.
An investigative officer said the woman, Gangadevi, Srinivasan’s wife, established a relationship with V Muthupandi aged 41 years, Madurai’s native, over the past few months.
The officer said Muthupandi, who worked in a private company in Chennai, has separated from his wife and two children two years ago.
“He was friends with Gangadevi on Facebook in December last year and they developed extramariatis.
This duo plans to marry and hold a drama.
On Tuesday night, Gangadevi handed his gold ornaments with severe 19 sovereign to Muthupandi, who tied his legs and hands to use His sari and clogged, according to the plan, in his beauty room, “the officer quoted his lover.

Srinivasan, however, entertained his wife and took him to the Karumathampatti police station on Wednesday morning.
He told the whole incident to the police officer, who was looking for a written complaint from the couple, while sending a team to the beauty salon area to collect recordings from CCTV cameras in the region.
“The couple left the station promising to return to a written obedient.
In a few hours, Gangadevi was hung to death in their homes in her husband’s abscence,” the officer said.
Furthermore, Deputy Inspector General of Police Muthusamy, police supervisor S Selvanagarathinam and other police officials held an investigation with Srinivasan.
The police registered the case below section 174 of the criminal procedure code and part 392 of Indian Criminal Code, and collected the details of Gangadevi’s call.
“We found him used to talk to his daughter and one mutupandi often.
We trace the existence of mutupandi to Udhagam in the Nilgiris district and took him to the Karumathampatti police station,” the officer said.
During the investigation, the officer said, Muthupandi admitted their relationship and the drama they did to marry.
“When her husband approached us, Gangadevi was afraid that he would know about his relationship.
So he ended his life.” The police have ordered Muthupandi under Section 497 (adultery), 498 (lure or taking or holding back the criminal intention of a married woman) , 380 (theft in residential homes, etc.) and 306 (suicide reduction) from the Criminal Procedure Code.
“We have restored the golden ornaments of women from him.
He was returned in the custody of the judiciary,” the officer said.
