Mumbai: In the midst of a lack of vaccines, the state on Thursday reached a milestone in history: adminise 3.57 crore doses, counted almost 10% of 36.5 shots given throughout the country.
Now, almost a quarter of the adult population that meets the requirements in Maharashtra has received at least one shot, and 8.7% is fully vaccinated.
Maharashtra is only a second to rise, which has provided more than 3.6 doses of crore until Thursday.
In the country, Mumbai has been vaccinated at most: 59.3 lakh has got a shot, while 12.5 lakh has both doses.
The achievement was damaged when the drive slowed again because of the inadequate dose supply this week.
BMC has suspended inoculation for Friday in public centers.
The state could barely vaccinate people 3.1lakh on Thursday while the Mumbai election was split in two to (45,171) compared to the previous day.
Immunization only takes place at 115 of 303 public centers in the city.
State officials confirmed that they hoped to receive around 7lakh dosage on Friday.
Suresh Kakani, an additional Municipal commissioner, said that if the dose arrived on Friday night, there would be a drive trimmed on Saturday and the full schedule will take place from Monday.
This is a second time a little more than a month when BMC must cancel drive vaccination due to lack.
Vaccination in the first week of July has seen a significant uptick.
On July 3, Maharashtra has given 8 doses of lakh a day, but the amount has come since.
Overall, Maharashtra has provided 3.57 crore doses, which 2.06 Crore has received the first shot and 73.98 lakh has been fully vaccinated.
Up may have provided the highest dose in this country, but behind Maharashtra when it comes to complete vaccination.
The number of people who are fully vaccinated in the most populous situation in this country is 55.27 lakh, according to Cowin.
Up to 45 lakh doses in the state have been managed in a private hospital.
Dr.
Dilip Patil, the state immunization officer, said the erratic supply hurt the drive.
“Every time we have a dose, the district vaccinates in their full capacity,” he said.
The center has convinced Maharashtra 1.15 crore doses in July.
“But we are not sure what volume will actually arrive.
It all depends on how many companies have managed to increase their production capacity,” he said.
