PANAJI: Prime Minister Narendra MODI moving to overthrow the former Minister of Environment Prakash Javadekar from the Cabinet of States is “natural justice” for Goa, especially on environmental issues, Congress said on Thursday.
It is also said that the appointment of North MP Goa MP rises as the Minister of State for the port, shipping, waterways and tourism is a “hidden blessing” for Goa.
Describing the Cabinet Rejig as a “facial save practice”, the President of the State Congress, Girish Chodankar said that what was actually needed was a change in the government’s steering wheel.
“Natural justice has been done to the betrayal of the former Prakash Javadekar Minister who continued with the Minister of Cave Pramod Sawant in selling the mother of our River Mhadei to Karnataka,” Chodankar said.
“The hour need is to change the pilot and co-pilot the plane when the nation passes through turbulent times.
Changing the cabin crew will not help,” Chodankar said.
Congress said that hoping that Sawant would “get his punishment” immediately played with Goa’s sentiment and emotions.
Although the appointment rose as a new Minister of State for the port, shipping, waterways and tourism was seen as a decline from his previous post from an independent charge from the Ayush Ministry and the Minister of State for defense, Congress said that the new post would benefit Goa.
“This is actually a hidden blessing for Goa.
I hope he will protect the interests of Goans and save the coastline and the Goa River from entering the clutches of the crony club Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Chodankar said, added, “We hope he will take direct steps To revive the tourism industry that is most affected.
