Chicago: Law enforcement officer in Chicago was fatally shot a 33-year-old man who appointed a gun on them when they tried to catch him on Friday, the authorities said.
The shooting took place around 9:40 a.m.
in the West Garfield Park neighborhood because members of the fugitive task force tried to serve an arrest warrant for criminal sexual violence that was exacerbated by firearms, Chicago police supervisor told reporters.
A group of law enforcement officers identified the man, but he would not come out of the vehicle he was and appointed a gun at the officer, Brown said.
Three Chicago police officers and Marsekhal As open fire.
Not immediately clear whether the man fired a shot.
Tom Ahern police spokesman told Chicago Tribune that the man was taken to Mount Sinai Medical Center in the “patent condition” and then died.
There were no injured officers, but four who fired shots were taken to hospital for the evaluation, Brown said.
The shooting followed Drive-by Shooting Wednesday from two Federal Alcohol Bureau, tobacco, firearms and explosive agents and a Chicago assignment officer.
Eugene McClaurin, 28, from Chicago, was charged with Thursday in shooting one of the agents.
The authorities said he claimed to have misinterpreted officers for rival gang members.
Agents and officers were hospitalized and then released.
“It’s a very dangerous time for law enforcement,” Brown said on Friday.
“These officers face death day after day to protect the Chicago people.
No one pays attention to the presence of law enforcement.”
