Ahmedabad: Raska Weir, which was intended to satisfy thirst from the Ahmedabad people was also used by Bootleggers as a base for operating to satisfy thirst tiplers.
On Thursday, the city police submitted a case after a bottle of Liquor Liquor India India (IMFL) was worth RS 64,000 found from a secret trench under Raska Weir’s pipe on Wednesday.
A squad Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) Zone-2 received input that several people sold liquor at Sabarmati Riverbank behind the Mothera Stadium and headed for the Raska Weir pipeline network.
“We know someone named Ratan Laal, a resident of Acher at Sabarmati, has hidden a large number of bottles of liquor underground in a secret trench under the raska pipeline,” said Police Chief DCP, Zone-2, Mukesh Ramsang.
He said the police team rushed there and began looking for liquor on Wednesday night.
The police found a man wearing a pink shirt and black trousers who keep the place on the banks of the Sabarmati River.
When he was questioned about what he did there, he began to grope and with a strict question, he claimed that he worked for Laal’s main break.
The man, Rajesh Thakor, 20, the resident of Ather, told the police that he was deployed there as a security guard by Laal hidden under the Raska Weir pipe.
Police personnel were excavated in the place shown by Thakor and found a whiskey bottle box and beer cans there.
According to FIR, 267 whiskey bottles and 184 cans beer found from that place.
