Ghaziabad: The Development Authority of Ghaziabad (GDA) has identified more than 320 illegal colonies in the district and plans to make a public list so that buyers are awarding when investing in the colony.
This list will be uploaded on the GDA portal.
In fact, GDA has long tried to control illegal colonies and a few years ago stopped the applicant of colonies like that.
Unauthorized colonies have placed additional burdens in city sources and in the absence of an effective mechanism, development authorities often fail to monitor safety standards which result in collapsing incidents, according to officials.
“The unauthorized colony in the district is a curse and they grow every year.
The problem of these colonies is due to lack of consciousness, buyers invest in these properties and intermediaries and soil sharks have a big role to play in it,” said A GDA official.
“Once these colonies appear, there is an increase in pressure on us to provide civil facilities such as water and electricity supply.” “So, we have decided that 321 unauthorized colonies that have been identified in the district will be published and we will soon upload a list on our portal.
This will prevent people from investing in such colonies,” the official added.
321 Unauthorized colonies identified in this district include Brij Nagri, Nandini Enclave, Durga Enclave and Pandav Nagar.
GDA previously tried to solve the problem by asking for the registry cap and the registry department to verify land records and documents before executing land registration.
“But it doesn’t materialize because there is a clause in the registration manual, according to him, the officers who register will not take into account the validity of the documents brought to them before implementing the registrant,” the official said.
Development authorities have in the past written to the state government urged him to make the previous NOC from the obligatory but to succeed.
“So, the registrants in unauthorized colonies continue,” he added.
