New Delhi: Delhiit must pay Rs 10,000 to Rs 1 Lakh for violating voice pollution norms by using loudspeakers without permission or sets DG because the Delhi pollution control committee (DPCC) has asked the authorities to apply the revised rules.
According to the revised central pollution control board (CPCB), one must pay a fine of RS 10,000 if there is noise violation by a loudspeaker or public address system in a public place without permission or at night, and the equipment will also occur confiscated.
The fine of RS 1 Lakh has been set for a diesel generator set (DG) more than 1,000 KVA, Rs 25,000 for a set of 62.5 KVA to 1,000 KVA and 10,000 Rs to set a set of up to 62.5 kva, said the order of the DPCC.
The noise level that was permitted in the residential area was 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night.
Likewise, in the commercial area, the permitted vote limit is 65 decibels during the day and 55 decibels at night.
In sensitive areas it is 50 decibels during the day and 40 decibels at night.
Apart from this, there are ‘silent zones’ which includes areas located within 100 meters from schools, colleges, hospitals and courts.
According to the order, if there is a break of fire crackers outside the specified boundary inside the place of RWA or on the function of marriage, the organizer and the owner of the place must pay Rs 20,000 for the first violation.
“For the second violation, the organizers and owners must pay Rs 40,000.
For more than two violations in a permanent place or on the function of marriage, the organizer and the owner must pay a fine of RS 1 lakh.
The place will also be sealed,” commanded DPCC.
If noise pollution is caused by crackers out of bounds in the wedding procession or public rally and religion, the committee must pay a fine of RS 10,000 and if it is in the silence zone, the fine will multiply.
If individual households soar crackers in the housing zone or commercial, the fine will be Rs 1,000.
However, it will be Rs 3,000 if there is a violation in the silence zone.
In terms of construction equipment emits sounds outside the permitted limits, 50,000 RS fines will be applied, said Ordo.
DPCC officials said that the sentence was revised by the CPCB in 2020 where recommendations were made that people had to spend more money to go beyond the limits of sound pollution.
The DPCC has issued directions to all DMS, SDMS, Delhi police, and traffic police for tight compliance from these rules.
