Islamabad: Worried of the Civil War in Afghanistan, Pakistani National Security Advisor, Dr Moeed Yusuf, has painted a gloomy picture of his neighboring country, which can cause the Taliban to slip into Pakistan as a refugee.
Yusuf made this comment during a briefing to the State Foreign Affairs Committee, vowed to discuss the situation of Afghanistan at this time, The Express Tribune reported.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, was also present at the direction.
Presenting the pessimistic description of Afghanistan, said Yusuf, “the situation was bad and out of Pakistan’s control.” This came when Joe Biden Administration earlier this week announced that the US military would withdraw from Afghanistan until the end of August.
Meanwhile, the Taliban continued with offensive and claimed to have captured 85 percent of the area in the country.
According to a leading Afghan expert, the Taliban will not be involved in dialogue with the Government of Ashraf Ghani during the military and Pakistani intelligence continues to protect terrorists.
In an interview with the German DW, Ahmed Rashid, a best-selling journalist and authorized policy of several books about Afghanistan, said that the situation was chaotic in Afghanistan “can suck in neighboring countries”.
“If that happens, it will be the end of Afghanistan,” he said.
“Why do they have to when their leaders and their families are safe? If Pakistan wants to show his sincerity, it needs to immediately force the Taliban leaders to compromise or leave their protection in Quetta or in Peshawar,” Rashid said.
On Saturday, Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani, said he saw the Taliban responsible for ongoing violence in the country where at least 200 to 600 people were killed every day.
“The Taliban is responsible for the continuation of the war,” Ghani said, as quoted by Tolo News.
“Taliban must be asked who they are fighting for? Who will benefit if Afghanistan is destroyed and if the Afghanistan is killed?”
