Pune: The state government has directed all district and civil officials to provide a priority jab to nearly 19 lakh people who are now ready for the second dose of covid vaccines.
As on July 8, around 19.19 Lakh residents of all health services, frontline workers and 18-pluses – are scheduled for the second dose (both covishield or covaxin), in all countries.
Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur and Kolhapur have the highest number of recipients.
The movement to give these people as the priority of the Jabs comes after the central direction calls the state to have “routine review of beneficiaries due to the second dose and focus on settlement of their timely vaccination schedule”.
“In accordance with the Government of India’s direction (dated July 9), you are ordered to implement the right communication strategy to disseminate about the importance of the need to take the second dose of maturity for full protection of Covid-19,” Archana Patil, “Director of Health Services, Maharashtra, Writing in a letter to the district / civil administration issued on Friday (July 9).
The country has provided more than 3.5 doses of crore vaccines so far.
“We have asked officials to stay a special focus on the administration of the second dose of vaccines to all beneficiaries which qualifies, “said Patil.
Among the four districts with the highest number of people maturing for the second shot of Covishield, Mumbai has the most – 32,052 health workers (HCWS), 31,665 frontline workers (FLW) and 1,12,350 residents more than 18.
Total established at 1, 76,067.
As for Covaxin, Mumbai has 26,358 beneficiaries due to both of them from all Kelomp OK.
In the District Pune, a total of 22,244 HCW qualified for the second dose of the covishield, followed by 25,135 flws and 1,24,995 citizens.
The total number is at 1.72,374.
For the second dose of Covaxin, Pune has 34,429 beneficiaries (from all groups) due.
In the Nagpur district, a total of 1,36,918 beneficiaries are scheduled for the second dose of Covishield – 10,755 HCWs, 14,674 FLWS and 1.11, 489 residents more than 18.
The district also has 12,106 beneficiaries for the second dose of covaxin.
Kolhapur Regency has a total of 1,20,655 beneficiaries that now need a second shot of covishield.
The figure includes 4,985 HCWs, 6,542 FLWS and 10,9138 residents over the age of 18.
The Covaxin, Kolhapur has 6,139 people who are eligible for the second dose.
