Ahmedabad: It was a lot of rainwide for residents who fought hot and moisture for the past few days when the bathroom arrived with lightning and strong winds on Sunday night.
But medium rainfall to severe results in water lines in most areas when four underpasses are closed for traffic.
Amdavadis who returned from a Sunday visit was whipped by moderate rainfall until it was heavy which began after 19:30.
The main traffic congestion was witnessed in several areas when some left their vehicle on the side of the road to walk a few meters to get a taxi or a car to go home.
Rainfall continues until 10pm.
According to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) control room, until 10 o’clock in the city, it has received 84.3mm rainfall, or around 3.3 inches.
Among the zones, the South Zone including Maninagar and Vatva received 120mm rainfall, followed by the East (including Odhav, Viratnagar, Nicol, Ramol, etc.) with 101mm, the center (with Danapith and Dudheshwar) with 93mm and North (Memco, Naroda, Kotarpur)) with 90mm.
West Zone (Usmanpura, Paldi, Chandkheda) received 70mm rain, while North West (Bodakdev, Gota) 65.6 mm and southwest (Sarkhej, Jodhpur, Bopal) 51 mm.
