Coimbatore: 50 km cycle rally held in the district on Saturday to create awareness in 100% Covid-19 vaccination and push cycling as a fitness facility.
Organized by the institutional group Nehru in connection with the Kovai Pedallers and the Rotary Club of Kovaipur, rallies have more than 100 participants.
The rally began around 6.30 in the morning from Kovaipur and concluded in the same place later on the day, including SundaKkamuthur, Rolens, Pachapalayam, Thonbamuthur, Alaandhurai, Nallurvayal, Ikkarai Poovampatti and Siruvani.
The committee said they had not collected any costs of the participants, while T-shirts and free certificates were given to all registered participants.
Participants wear masks and facial helmets along the rally.
Registering Benefits of Cycling, P Krishna Kumar, CEO of Nehru Group and President Kovai Pedallers, said it was a cost-effective exercise, which would benefit the people of all ages.
