Three gangs targeting executives on e-ways in police nets

Gurgaon: Three active elevator-and-loot gang members in Delhi-NCR, UP and Rajasthan were arrested by the Gurgaon Police Branch Crime on Monday.
The gang used to target people who are looking for a ride at Delhi-Jaipur Expressway, robbing them from valuables, forcing them to share their debit / credit card details and withdraw cash from their accounts.
The defendant has been identified as Manoj aka Monu (27), Surender Kumar (35) and Naresh Kumar (32).
Everything comes from Jaipur and lives in rented accommodation in Rewari Bawal, from where they are arrested.
The police said the gang was involved in at least 24 cases of highway robbery above, Delhi and Rajasthan.
“They used to come to Gurgaon in their Brezza and offer lift to people near the company’s office in Sohna Road, UDYOG VIHAR, Sector 17-18, IFFCO Chowk and Rajiv Chowk,” said Palwan Preet Sangwan.
He told the Toi that the people who used to target those who wear gold rings, chains and watches or expensive executives “appear rich” looking for lifts on the toll road.
The police have formed a team to track gangs after several incidents were reported in recent weeks and their Nabbed with the help of technical supervision and human intelligence.
They now collect details such as those registered at various police stations to contact the victims.
