Pratapgarh: A 40-year-old e-rickshaw driver was seriously injured after being shot to demand the fees from two young men in the District of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night in the Kotwali Nagar police station area, they said.
The driver, Om Prakash, asked the two young men, who came down from his e-rickshows near the Sagra City slopes chicken farm, to pay the cost.
Both, instead, opened fire to him, said Circle Officer (City) Abhay Pandey.
According to Pandey, the driver was taken to the hospital in a critical condition from which the doctor referred him to the SRN Prayagraj hospital.
The police took action in connection with the incident, he added.
