NEW DELHI: Even a High-profile committee chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi Satisfied on Monday to Choose the new Manager of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Besides Modi, another two members of this board — Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury along with Chief Justice of India N V Ramana — were also found at the meeting held in the Prime Minister’s house. The meeting lasted for over 90 minutes. Serving Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of their senior-most batches — 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987 — are all considered for the top place from the CBI. At the moment, that the CBI’s extra manager, Praveen Sinha, also a 1988-batch IPS officer, is currently holding the cost of manager. Sinha has been given the extra charge following the retirement of Rishi Kumar Shukla at February following a yearlong tenure.
