Letter: The latest in some controversies over the past three years due to internal politics, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) is now on drive makeover images using social media.
A team consisting of 40 students has been employed by universities and they are paid every hour to create awareness about universities on various social media platforms.
The team reported directly to Representative of Chancellor KN Chavda and its members were paid Rs 65 to Rs 100 per hour based on their education and job profiles.
For the first time the University focuses on building its image on social media since the social media platform gained excellence.
“The reason behind this initiative is to highlight the achievement of universities so that students and residents can obtain accurate information.
This is an effort to bridge the communication gap,” Chavda said.
Students carry out work on social media during their spare time while on campus.
Interestingly, only a handful of people who know the student team directly and they only accept orders from VC to ensure that timely and accurate information is shared through the university handle.
At present, this university focuses on popularizing handles and pages on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and cellular chat applications.
“We reinforce our presence on social media to compete with private universities,” Chavda added.
The university has also made changes to its website and renewal on the social media platform reflected on the home page.
The City of Letter and the District have five private universities in competition with almost 60 years of government universities.
VNSGU serves to the largest tribal area of the state.
