Letter: Patidar leader Anamat Andolan Samiti (PaaS) Alpesh Kathiriya walked out of the Lajpore Central Prison after spending four months in prison.
He was given a guarantee in a case listed under the caste and the scheduled tribe (prevention of atrocities) acted on Thursday.
Kathiriya was arrested in February after alleged arguments and clashes with members of the Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP) during the selection of Municipal Corporation (SMC).
He was booked at the Kamrej police station for riots and under the prevention section of the ACT ATRocity.
The group of about 50 PAA members gathered outside the Lajpore center prison to receive Kathiriya.
Hardik Patel, Dinesh Bambhaniya, Dharmik Malaiviya and other Paas leaders were also present.
Previously, PaAs had asked his supporters not to come in large numbers in LCJ to celebrate releases because of Covid guidelines.
Kathiriya then went to Umiya Dham at the Khodiyar Mata Temple in the Lal Darwaja area.
He also visited the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in a mini bazaar.
Kathiriya was also welcomed by members of the party leader AAM AADMI (AAP).
“PaAs will continue his struggle and demand the withdrawal of cases against members registered during the movement.
I do not have a political plan and our team will make the right decision in the future,” Kathiriya said.

He was given a guarantee by the High Court on Tuesday.
In recent city elections, PaaS played a key role in ensuring the victory of 27 AAP candidates from areas dominated by Patidar.
In the previous election, Congress candidates won the city election from these regions.
