Pune: Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Mahametro) said that he had softened plans for the last connectivity to and from the metro station.
Mahametro said he would join hands with Pune Mahamandal Parievination Mahamandal Ltd (PMPML), the autorickshaw union, taxi aggregator and bus operator in this regard, and said it had signed 14 memoranda understanding (MOU) so far with various service providers.
Mahametro said talks are also ongoing by train, IRCTC and Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) for a smooth switching experience between different transportation services.
On Thursday, Mahametro launched an access and mobility program (stamp) for Pune, an initiative led by the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and WRI India Ross Center aimed to improve multi-capital integration from metro rails with other modes of transportation in India.
, Sangkram is based on partnership models with innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Pune is the fifth city to be part of the initiative, Mahametro said.
Mahametro is developing two metro corridors at Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad – Pimpri to Swargate and Vanaz to Ramwadi.
The Metro will be connected with train services in three locations – Pune Station, Shivajinagar and Rudidwadi.
Atul Gadgil, Director (working) in Mahametro, said they planned to do operational Metro services in the Vanz-Garzware 5 km colleges and 7km PCMC-dapodi priority stretched in December.
“Some works are in the final stage.
Mahametro and the Civic body concerned will take advantage of pedestrians and street infrastructure within 500 meters from each metro station.
Separate plans are being carried out to establish contact with train services,” Gadgil said.
