Mumbai: The state government has released all domestic and international passengers who are fully vaccinated from the negative RT-PCR report requirements to enter the country if they have completed 15 days since the second dose of the vaccine.
This order was issued by the Head of Secretary of Sitaram Kunte on Thursday and said that passengers who were fully vaccinated who were looking for exceptions must have their final vaccination certificate released through the co-win portal.
The direction so far said passengers arriving in the state with any transportation mode needed to bring the negative RT-PCR tests carried out 48 hours before the start of the trip.
Through the latest orders, the state government extends the validity of RT-PCR tests for all others up to 72 hours before the start of the trip.
Orders mention that all passengers must follow the corresponding behavior of Covid like wearing a mask.
Officials said that with America opened for business and tourism, it was not practical to hold on to the requirements for RT-PCR reports for people who were fully vaccinated.
“It will also act indirectly as SOP to encourage more people to be fully vaccinated,” said an official.
Iqbal City Commissioner Singh Chahal has written to the country two days ago looking for an exception from the RT-PCR report for domestic passengers who are fully vaccinated.
