Kolkata: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will move to Calcutta High Court who is looking for disqualified beat Roy as MLA in the West Bengal Assembly.
Meanwhile, the first hearing on disqualification beat Roy as BJP MLA in the West Bengal Assembly before Biman Banerjee’s speaker concluded on Friday.
The next hearing must be held on July 30.
Previously, eight BJP MLAs submitted his resignation from the leadership of the Assembly Committee and the Committee to stand the West Bengal Legislative Assembly on Tuesday in protest against the Public Account Committee (PAC)) Chairman.
MLA includes Mihir Goswami, Manoj Tigga and Krishna Kalyani.
“They have resigned from the leadership of the assembly and committee committee standing the West Bengal Legislative Assembly with the direct effect of July 9, 2021 according to their party direction,” BJP officials said.
Roy, who recently turned to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) after winning the country’s election on BJP tickets, on Friday was appointed as PAC chairman in the West Bengal Assembly by Biman Banerjee speakers.
Meanwhile, the MLA opposition delegation was led by opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari asked the Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar in Raj Bhawan in Kolkata and submitted representation of irregularities related to the governor’s office, told the governor’s office.
On June 11, Roy and his son Subhranshu Roy joined TMC before the Chairman of Bengali Bengal Banerjee.
This happened a month after TMC secured a landslide victory in the election of the West Bengal.
