Bradford: The hot air balloon pilot that had brought a total of five people had died after being entangled in the equipment under the basket and then fell to the ground in Bradford, the state police said Vermont.
Balloon takes off from the post mills airport on Thursday afternoon.
A few moments later the balloon touched in the fields and one passenger fell but was not hurt.
At that time, the pilot Brian Boland, 72, from the Post Mills, Vermont, became entangled in the teeth attached to the balloon when riding again.
He finally fell to the ground in the field where he was declared dead.
After the death of the pilot, three other passengers remained in the balloon until they were trapped in the forest of about 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) further north at Piermont, New Hampshire, where they fled unscathed.
None of the passengers were injured.
This incident is being investigated by officials from the National Transportation Safety Board, Federal Aviation Administration and State Transport officials from Vermont and New Hampshire.
