Coimbatore: The district occupies the top of the country in the number of fresh Covid-19 cases on Friday, with 252 people testing the virus positive.
This district also has the highest number of active cases in the country – 3,284.
The day saw 418 patients out of the hospital and covid care center in the district, taking the number of patients recovering to 2,20,994.
It should be noted that 2,26,404 people have tested the positive virus in the district to date.
The Covid-19 toll road, meanwhile, rose to 2,126 with the country including four more deaths that occurred in the district in the media bulletin.
Among the people who died were 53-year-old men with chronic kidney disease and hypertension treated in private hospitals on July 6 with fever and cough and died on Thursday, and a 44-year-old man with hypertension received by a private hospital at July 11 with fever and cough and die on Tuesday.
According to health officials, more than 9,000 people experience Covid-19 testing in the district every day.
The test level of the test has dropped to 2.8%.
Tirupur District neighbor reported 138 fresh Covid-19 cases that day, took the calculation to 86,346, where 1,597 was an active case.
At least 83,939 patients have recovered from Covid infection in Tirupur so far.
