KANPUR: The vigilance committee of Kanpur Municipal Corporation (KMC) in a meeting held by mayor Pramila Pandey and civic commissioner Akshya Tripathi on Tuesday worried on generating awareness among the public to not immerse dead bodies at Ganga. According to the government sequence, the committee has been included to assess immersion of dead bodies at Ganga from the metropolitan locations. The committee consists of eight corporators–Kailash Pandey, deputy chairman, functioning committee, Yashpal Singh, Amod Tripathi, Vikas Jaiswal, Ajit, Sharad Prakash Mishra, Manoj Kumar Pandey, Madan Babu, Kirti Agnihotri, Saurabh Dev along with Dr Ajay Sankhwar, health club, S T Singh, principal engineer (civil) and RK Pal, in-charge of street lighting. The committee indicated to make citizens aware regarding the results of immersion of dead bodies from the lake.
