Privacy is better than an Android phone.
This is one of the main sales points.
But the latest Snoopgate Pegasus report fired this claim at all.
Amnesty International in its report said that the attack “zero-click” is active on the iPhone.
“Recently, a successful” click-zero “attack had been observed to exploit a few zeros days to attack the iPhone 12 which was fully patched iOS 14.6 in July 2021,” he said.
The term “zero-click” means that the device does not have the interaction with the user and the attack occurs in itself and is not initiated by the user.
These attacks are carried out through Spyware Pegasus Group NSO which can send photos, messages stored on the iPhone to the operator without user knowledge.
In fact, it can also secretly record audio using a microphone.
The NSO Group offers about Pegasus Spyware as a one-stop solution to track criminals and terrorists but the problem is Pegasus’s handler is now targeting journalists, lawyers, human rights activists or anyone who speaks with strength.
While Apple Touts Imessage as a safe message delivery platform, reports by Amnesty International can make you think twice.
“The iPhone 11 of the French human rights activist (FRHRD1 code) also shows the search for iMessage for the account on June 11, 2021 and the evil process afterwards.
This phone runs iOS 14.4.2 and is upgraded to 14.6 the following day,” he said.
The report claimed that the bug found in 2019 allowed the attacker to control the iphone victim through iCloud’s photo.
After Pegasus is installed, it does not allow the iPhone to send damage reports to keep the apple in the dark about its presence.
Then, in 2020, the report claimed that Apple’s music application was used to get access to the victim’s telephone.
It also claims that Pesgaus is now operating as a zero click attack that spreads through iMessage.
Even the latest iOS 14.6 is vulnerable to this kind of attack.
This is a cat and mouse game between the Apple and NSO groups.
When Apple patches the vulnerability, the NSO Group found another weakness to continue his inn with Pegasus.
“Amnesty International has observed the compromise evidence of the iPhone XR Indian journalist (Injrn1 code) which runs iOS 14.6 (the latest available at the time of writing) recently on June 16, 2021.
Finally, Amnesty International has confirmed the active iPhone X infection from an activist ( RWHrd1 code) on June 24, 2021, also runs iOS 14.6, “he added.
