Mumbai: With fewer Covid-19 tests conducted during the weekend, Maharashtra recorded the lowest daily detection in almost five months and Mumbai reported below 500 cases for the fourth day in a row.
Also the active case in the state is dipped down one lakh on Monday.
The state added 6,017 cases, the lowest since February 22 (5,210), and 66 fatalities, the lowest in a week, pushed total load to 62.2 lakh and tolls to 1,27,097.
In Mumbai, however, daily peposititants remain below 2% even though there are few tests because of the weekend effect.
“We did 23,481 tests, but the level of progress was still 1.7%,” said BMC Health Officer Dr.
Mangala Gomare.
Mumbai added 402 cases and 14 deaths.
The overall growth rate declined another decimal and dipped to 0.06%, while the level of doubling increased to 1034 days.
On Monday, 13,051 people were removed to take the total release to 59.9 lakh and the number of active cases dipped in 96,375, including 10,422 in Mumbai.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope said the central team, who visited 10 districts that had a higher infection incidence, had suggested testing improvement and following strict detention steps in places.
“We will follow all their suggestions,” Tope said.
