New York: Health officials said the Delta variant of Coronavirus continued to surge and accounted for around 83 percent of US Covid-19 cases.
It was a dramatic increase from the July 3 week, when the variant accounted for around 50 percent of the coronavirus cases genetically.
“The best way to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 variant is to prevent the spread of disease, and vaccination is the most powerful tool we have,” said Dr.
Rochelle Walensky, Director of the Center for Control and Prevention of the disease, during the US Senate trial Tuesday.
The Delta variant is a mutated Coronavirus that spreads easier than other versions.
It was first detected in India but has now been identified throughout the world.
