3 Arrested for selling drugs to students

Coimbatore: Three people, including the duo of the men, was arrested in two separate incidents selling sedative pills and painkillers to young people in the Kuniyamuthur area and Podanur to get high.
The police have confiscated more than 170 pills from them.
In one incident, the Kuniyamuth police sub-inspector Ganeshkumar and the team received a tip about the sale of pills in the Sunambu Kalavai area on Monday night and arrested the 50-year-old Banu of the same locality and his 32-year-old son of Riyaz, a resident of Arivozhi Nagar in Madukkarai, with Pill 170 Tapentadol (Opioid Pain Medication), which they sell to school students and colleges.
They also confiscated RS 1,650 from the Duo, ordered under Sections 8 (C), 22 (b) Narcotics Medication and Psychotropic Substance Law (NDPS) Read with Section 77 of the Youth Justice Act (Child Care and Protection) and Nesting in prison under Judicial custody.
“One more person, Karumi Nazir, is involved in this case.
The search is there for him,” said a police officer.
In another incident, the Podanur Murugesan police sub-inspector and the team arrested Rashid, 42, from Pullukkadu in Ukkadam, for selling sedative pills to young people near Kurichi Tank on Monday.
They have confiscated 40 pills and Rs 500 from him.
Meanwhile, Periyananacickepalayam police, arrested Saraswathi aka Sarasa who was 61 years old, Rajendran’s wife, from Indira Nagar in Safaskenpalayam near Vellamai on Monday for ownership of Marijuana (marijuana) for sales.
An officer said the elderly woman was released in trial prisoners, facing eight cases of marijuana.
