Medical colleges that will be made functional this month will be in Deoria, Estate, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Hardoi, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Pratapgarh, and Siddhartha Nagar.
The state only has 12 medical colleges until 2017.
But as soon as the Yogi government is in power, the number increases.
The state government has planned to open medical colleges on public-private-partnerships in 16 countries that do not have medical colleges until now.

Uttar Pradesh already has four major medical institutions namely Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), RAM Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, Sefai Institute and Medical University of King George (KgMu).
