Kalyan: Because of the absence of the right drainage system and the streets filled with holes in the Aadivali Kalyan area, thousands of residents who are in the housing complex face large discomfort in heavy rain in heavy rain.
On Wednesday, residents protested the administration of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) by sitting in a water containing water and demanding that Civic agencies meet their old demands.
The population gathered near the former Kunal Patil office company who also joined the protest with residents against KDMC by sitting on a road full of holes.
Aadivivali area where many housing colonies appear in recent years still do not have the right drainage system.
While the road is also not repaired because the area is under 27 villages, which are still in the legal battle of these villages will remain with KDMC or will have a separate council.
Residents claim that even though KDMC takes property and other taxes, they ignore the area that produces the rainy season, and therefore, residents are forced to face great discomfort.
Mayuri Jadhav, one of the protesters said, “In the absence of the right drainage system, water enters the housing colony even if it rains a little.” Other Protester said, “Not only a drainage system, but KDMC also has not even repaired the road for years because people have to walk from the streets filled with holes.” Residents accused last year when the situation like floods emerged, the former Mayor of KDMC Vinita Rane personally visited the area and had convinced residents to meet the demands of the local population but nothing happened.
Kunal Patil, the former Corporator said, “Despite several demands, KDMC ignored the population of 27 villages for years by not doing work related to infrastructure and people suffer badly here”.
“Because the area is in the legal battle whether these villages will remain in KDMC or have a separate board, we cannot do the work here.
However, so rain stops, we will fill the hole,” said Sapna Koli, the KDMC city engineer.
