Tokyo: India Judoka Sushila Devi Liksabam has been submitted a difficult draw in Tokyo’s match because he will open his first Olympic campaign against the London 2012 Olympic bronze medal Eva Csernoviczki from Hungary in round 32, here on Saturday.
The 26-year-old is a Representative of Lone India at the Tokyo Olympics from Judo and will face Funa Tonaki’s favorite house, 2017 world champion, if he managed to cross the opening obstacle.
Sushila, which competes in the 48KG category, has been eligible for its first game through a continental quota.
He had lost in the first round of the World Championship held in Budapest but still managed to get to the Olympics after Asia received 10 continental slots and he was in number seven with a ranking of 989.
Sushila had exploded into the scene after claiming the 2014 Silver Commonwealth game in Glasgow.
He was part of the Indian team who was forced to withdraw from the qualification of the Asian-Oceania Olympics in Bishkek in April this year after two player colleagues were tested positive for Covid-19.
