Thane: One more criminal case has been registered against Param Bir Singh at the police station Kopri Thane.
A senior official tells you that various charges, including extortion, fraud and conspiracy have been slapped against Singh and Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Parag Manere and other officials from the Thane City police.
The complainant was the nephew of Shyamsundar Agrawal Builder, which has registered another extortion case against Singh at the Drive Marine Police Station, for allegedly demanding RS 15 Crore to draw complaints against him.
Besides Singh, the Marine drive police have ordered seven others, including five police officers and two civilians.
Two civilians, identified as Sunil Jain and Sanjay Punamia, have been arrested by the police.
They were produced before the 8th Metropolitan Magistrate Court, which revived them to police custody until July 27.
Punamia and Agarwal are partners in realty projects in Gorai, Borivali and Bhayander, but they separated in 2011 after a dispute.
The complaint said that it had to use his relationship with Singh for years to intimidate and extort funds from agarwal after falling.
