New Delhi: The Minister of External Affairs Jaisankar and his partner Malidivian Abdulla Shahid Friday signed an agreement on Indian-funded community projects in Maldives after they held a broad talk that included various bilateral, regional and global reciprocal problems.
The leader of the Maldives, who was chosen as the President of the UN General Assembly last month, arrived in India on Wednesday on a three-day visit.

The minister of external affairs described the meeting as “warm” and promised full Indian support for the presidency of the UN General Assembly.

An official statement said that the Prime Minister Modi congratulated Shahid for his brilliant victory in the election, noting that he reflected the growth of the Maldives stature on the world stage.

Maldives is one of the main neighbors of India’s main maritime in the Indian Ocean region.
