Varanasi: ‘Manifesto People’ on solar energy for the election of upcoming assembly released by the climate agenda, an NGO that works for the causes of environmental conservation, in the city on Friday.
Speaking with reporters, Saniya Anwar from the climate agenda said that the people’s manifesto demanded the full implementation and time bound from the solar city program up in all cities, including Varanasi.
Manifesto also demands to increase the number of cities under the program, according to their cultural, tourism and geographical relevance.
Manifesto focuses on increasing solar energy consumption in the state to resolve the climate crisis up and to explore great employment opportunities for the youth of the unemployed state.
He said that the temples and mosques built in Ayodhya have given extraordinary examples before the community and the religious community in India by adopting solar energy as their main energy source.
“Large-scale improvements in solar energy consumption will attract large investments up and will complete the climate and labor crisis of the state,” he said.
He also urged all political parties to combine the demands of the people’s manifesto on solar energy while fighting with the next assembly election.
Satish Singh Sarvoday Vikas Samiti said that Manifesto strongly demanded an increase in subsidies on solar panels.
At present, the cost of solar equipment prevents lay people from utilizing solar energy as their main energy source.
If the government increases subsidies to at least 50%, the government can get rid of people’s electricity requirements and employment and the climate crisis will be completed in the long run.
