Chennai: Secondary Education Center (CBSE) Class IX students to XII will have a truncated syllabus, which is 30% less, for the academic year 2021-22 too.
In addition to deciding to continue the short syllabus for the second year in a row, the CBSE released the syllabus of the term-wise for these classes for all schools on Saturday.
The council has divided the academic year 2021-22 into two terms for class X and XII to avoid cancellation of total council tests such as last year.
The first term exam, which will be a multiple choice question, will be held in November-December and the second term exam that will cover all types of questions in April-May 2022.
The teacher and the principal says the syllabus of the term and the guidelines provide clarity about what is Teacher, students need to be done if the pandemic continues.
Last year, the board had cut syllabus up to 30% for class IX to XII for the 2020-21 academic year, because students learn through online mode.
This year the situation of the pandemic throughout the country forced the school to remain closed in the first quarter of academic and school years was teaching students online.
Asha Nathan, Chennai Public School principal at Anna Nagar, said the council retained the same syllabus as the deleted portion released last year.
“In bifurcation, they both divided 50% of the part of last year for terms I and term II.
Practically also divided into two years,” he said.
In the guidelines, the Board also announced that even if the practice was not done because the pandemic would be the basic theory.
R Srinivasa Raghavan, Head of Middle School Bala Vidyamandir in Adyar, said the examination would be carried out smoothly under a new term system for class X and XII students.
“Schools have more clarity because the Board has given a blueprint, how the sign will be considered for next year.
Validating the sign at the end of the year will also be better,” he said.
He further said students need to appear continuously throughout the year to score goals well in the current scheme.
Some principals said some of their teachers had finished the portion moved to II II this year.
“Even though the syllabus was the same as last year, several portions resolved by our school had been moved to II II this year.
It will place schools in complicated situations.
Furthermore, multiple choice questions (MCQ) will work against students as moderations may not be possible , “said a principal from the city school.
C Sathish, former Principal of DAV High School in Gopalapuram, said they had reduced the syllabus for all subjects for both conditions.
“This rationalization syllabus will benefit students from the duration before term I and term II terms,” he said.
Along with Bifurkasi Syllabus, the Board also issued guidelines for conducting internal assessments, practices and projects.
“Schools must ensure that internal assessments can be reliable, fair, and transparent for all students.
The evaluation carried out by the teacher for internal assessment / practical work / projects needs to be based on evidence of student performance in all academic sessions.
Proof of internal assessment / practical work / Project work Need to be served / uploaded by the school according to the CBSE instructions for verification, “the guidelines said.
