KATHMANDU: In a stunning twist of events, Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Friday midnight dissolved the parliament and declared mid-term surveys on November 12 and 19. Bhandari’s statement came on Friday midnight once she supported the recommendation to dissolve the parliament created by Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli. A media statement issued from the Office of President reported that the parliament was dissolved and customs of midterm surveys were declared according to Article 76 (7) of this Constitution of Nepal. The council of ministers has advocated conducting’the very first stage of the survey on November 12 and the next stage on November 19. Nepal’s political tragedy had taken a remarkable twist on Friday because embattled Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli and the Opposition parties staked independent claims for the creation of a new administration by submitting letters of support from lawmakers to the President. Prime Minister Oli had attained that the President’s Office Shital Niwas and introduced his record, a couple minutes before their Opposition leaders.
