Bly (US): The crew abroad headed to Montana on Saturday to fight the fire that injured five firefighters when the West US struggled with a series of fires that had destroyed rural land and destroyed the house.
Progress is being made on the nation’s largest fire, the bootleg fire in Oregon, but less than half is contained, the fire official said.
Extensive fire growth has slowed, but the increase in fire activity is expected on Saturday, and thousands of houses are still threatened on the east side, the authorities said.
“This fire is resistant to stop on the Dozer line,” Jim Hanson, a fire behavior analyst, said on Saturday in a news release from the Oregon Forestry Department.
“With the weather and dry fuel we have experienced, firefighters must constantly reevaluate their control lines and look for contingency options.” In California, Gov Gavin Newsom on Friday declared an emergency for four northern countries because of the forest fires which were said to cause “Extreme danger conditions for people’s safety and property.” Proclamation paves the way for more state support.
On Saturday, the fire crew from California and Utah headed to Montana, Gov Greg Gianforte announced.
Five firefighters injured Thursday when the wind circled blew fire again on them when they worked on the Devil’s Creek fire burning in a steep terrain near the rural city of Jordan.
They remain hospitalized Friday.
Bureau spokesman for land management Mark Jacobsen refused to release the extent of their injury, and the effort to study their conditions Saturday was unsuccessful.
Three of the firefighters were members of the crew of the US fish and wildlife from North Dakota, and the other two were US forest fires from New Mexico.
In California, the southern Tamarack fire Lake Tahoe continued to burn wood and chaparral and threaten the community on both sides of the California-Nevada state line.
API, triggered by Lightning July 4 at Alpine County, has destroyed at least 10 buildings.
At Butte County, California, Dixie’s fire continued to burn in a rough and remote terrain, hampering the efforts of fire department to hold fire when growing east, became the biggest fire in the country this year.
The heavy smoke from both large fires decreases visibility and sometimes around the aircraft provides support for the fire crew.
South air quality Lake Tahoe and across the country’s line to Nevada worsens to a very unhealthy level.
In the middle of Washington, firefighters struggled two Blaz in Okanogan Regency who threatened hundreds of homes and once again caused a dangerous air quality condition on Saturday.
And in the North Idaho, East Spokane, Washington, a small fire near Silverwood Theme Park encouraged evacuation Friday night in the park and around it.
The amusement park again opened on Saturday with half fire contained.
