Hundreds of children in Indonesia have died of Coronavirus in recent weeks, many of them are younger than 5, the mortality rate is greater than other countries and one who challenges the idea that children face the minimum risk of Covid-19, the doctor said.
Death, more than 100 weeks this month, has come because Indonesia faces its biggest surge in the overall Cornomius case.
The leap in child mortality coincides with a surge in delta variants that have swept in Southeast Asia.
The Indonesian government reported nearly 50,000 new infections and 1,566 deaths among the entire population on Friday.
Based on reports from pediatricians, children now form 12.5% of the case of confirmed countries, an increase over the previous several months.
More than 150 children died of Covid-19 during the July 12 week, with half the deaths recently involved them younger than 5.
Overall, Indonesia has reported more than 3 million cases and 83,000 deaths.
More than 800 children in Indonesia who were younger than 18 died of the virus since the pandemic began, the majority of death occurred in just the past month.
Experts say a number of factors contribute to them.
Some can be susceptible to viruses because of the underlying health conditions.
The low level of vaccination is another factor.
Only 16% of Indonesians have received a dose, and only 6% have been fully vaccinated.
At the same time, many hospitals have been stretched out of their limits with a recent surge in case.
Some hospitals were established to care for children with Covid.
With hospitals at capacity, around two-thirds of adult patients are in isolation at home, which increases the chances of children will be infected.
