Jill Biden’s first woman visited the Covid-19 pop-up vaccination clinic in Waipahu, Hawaii, on Sunday to encourage Hawaii who was not vaccinated to get their shots because the Delta variant surged through many US.
Biden in a comment at the clinic in Waipahu Middle School said the virus has become “more contagious than before” and urges people who are not vaccinated to “help us through this virus once and for all.” “I’m here to ask everyone to listen now, to choose to be vaccinated,” Biden said.
Nearly 60% of the country’s population is fully vaccinated.
State officials scramble to get more Hawaii vaccinated as the level of infection rises.
The average daily seven days of Hawaii for new cases rose 192% from 10 July to Friday, according to the State Health Department.
The following week, Biden joined a military family for Barbeque on a base with Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu.
He visited Hawaii on his way back to Washington from leading the US delegation to the Olympics in Tokyo.
