According to local legend, this temple was named after Ramappa, the sculptor that built it and was the only temple in India which would be named Silpin.
The inscription was found in the pillar at the Temple on the date of 1213 AD which wasted that it was built by Rudra Reddy’s recherla from Kakatiya Emperor Ganapati Deva.
Rudreshwara Temple, Built as part of Triple T-Concept of Kakatiyas as highlighted by Professor Pandurangarao from Kakatiya Heritage Trust, is the masterpiece of Kakatiyan architecture by using a lightweight floating brick for superstructure (Vimana Sikhara), Pasir- Box Foundation and Creativity in the Stone Statue Representing the dance style.
It meets the criteria for the World Heritage Center to be eligible for writing in the List of World Heritage Monuments.
The temple in Palampet is a beautiful example of Kakatiya architecture.
The beautiful form of Vimana, this temple was raised in top of highest love (pedestal) and consisted of Rangamandapa (The Dancing Hall), intercourse and garbhagha (Sanctum Sanctorum).
The first to have three homes and Garbhagha is the Pancharatha class (category five).
At the Karnika base (mold) and Gajathara (Gia elephant in a row) was employed.
The garbhagriha section in the Bhadra section (projection on the wall) has a vimane model (roof superstructure) while because (miniature temple), Anuratha (additional temple motifs with Pilasters) and the SaliLantara section (recess) has Panjaras Vimana (architecture motif with a rectangular hall) and kumbhaatas.

The exterior of Rangamandapa has a very ornament kakshasanas (stone bench in the basement) and brackets showing alaenanyas (number bracket ladies), salabanjikas (women who secure the dick plants and tree branches) Nagini (a woman holding a snake), Vyala (Animal Myth), among others, contrast.
It is carved as a mythical or dancer or musician or musician, and is a works of Kakatiya, famous for their smooth carvings, sensual postures and body and elongated heads.
The temple superstructure is built with bricks, which are very light so they are able to float on the water.
There are two small Siva temples on both sides of the main temple.
No doubt that Ramappa Temple, now the World Heritage Monument attracts large tourist flows both domestically and internationally.
