Aurangabad: The city of Aurangabad has a covid test rate of 7.44 lakh per million, which is far better than the average state of 71,971 tests per million, official data shows.
Known for some pioneering efforts in battle against pandemics, the citizenship government has ensured that Covid testing measures are aggressive from the start which has resulted in a high level of testing.
While the boundaries of the city of Aurangabad were first in the state to carry out covid obligatory tests on traders and vendors, the screening also included the main government offices and entry points of the city among other locations.

Neta Padalkar, Health Official with Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), said aggressive testing had helped in containing the previous Covid-19 spread compared to other Metros.
“The RT-PCR test and quick antigen have been used effectively to carry out covid testing.
Even if the active case is down now, the test is still done on important points,” he said.
In accordance with official data, as many as 8.95,130 swab samples have been collected within the boundaries of Aurangabad for Covid testing during the current pandemic.
These include 5,19,929 samples of swabs for the purpose of conducting antigen tests and 3,75,201 collected for RT-PCR testing.
On Sundays, Aurangabad reported 1,349 Covid tests and the level of counselor of 0.82% which also included test results carried out between Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, Aurangabad reported 11 fresh Covid-19 cases on Sunday, taking the calculation of active cases to 49.
The city also enrolled one death because of Covid-19, which has increased the progressive number of victims to 1,942.
