Gurgaon: City corporation Gurgaon (MCG) plans to launch a plan to replace auto diesel with e-rickshaw on independence day.
The Civic body will first begin the project by providing subsidies to automatic owners at Palam Vihar, where the number of cars is more than other cities.
MCG recently announced that it would soon start working to create an electric vehicle zone in the city.
Diesel Autos will not be allowed to layer in the e-vehicle zone.
According to regional transportation authorities (RTA), there are around 20,000 diesel cars in Gurgaon.
“We will start the project to replace the Diesel Autos with e-rickshaw from Palam Vihar and plan to provide subsidies on August 15.
Palam Vihar has a good number of diesel cars, so we think of starting in the area,” said Jitender Garg, Commissioner with MCG -2.
The owner is automatically, however, is not convinced with a diesel car replacement scheme with e-rickshaw.
Some of them say e-rickshaws are not durable in the long run, while others show that it is not a decent substitute for a shared diesel car that can accommodate more people.
“There are problems related to the scheme.
One of them is that we are not sure about the e-rickshaw durability they will give us.
Before assigning work to the company, the authorities must first learn the quality of e-rickshaws they will give to We.
We take a loan to buy a pedicab and if it is not durable, it will disappear even if the authorities provide subsidies, “said Yogesh Sharma, Secretary General of Haryana Auto Association.
Manohar Minister Lal Khattar has announced that more than five-year-old autos diesel will be replaced by e-rickshaw in Gurgaon at a complaint committee meeting held in December 2019.
The Committee has made decisions when pollution problems caused by autos caused by raised in meeting.
“We held a recent meeting with the MCG where we had communicated clearly that it was not feasible for the automatic diesel owner to exchange their vehicles for e-rickshaw.
It was because the e-rickshaw was not long.
In addition, 60% of Diesel Cars In Gurgaon has been replaced with CNG Autos, “said Tek Chand from Gurgaon Auto Association, added that the authorities must take confidence before making a decision.
