Nagpur: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has received 48 applications for covid vaccination from residents of Bedridden.
Last week, the Civic body had floated the Google Sheet application inviting applications from these people to vaccinate their homes.
The move came to the government’s permit to do such a drive.
The additional city commissioner Ram Joshi told TI that the NMC vaccination center would be full of the next two days.
“We planned the drive for applicants lying in bed when our central staff was not busy.
The staff will be occupied with vaccinations on Tuesdays and Wednesdays because we have enough doses.
On the day we don’t have enough stock, the staff can go for a cellular drive, “He said.
Joshi said more applications have been received from the Mangalwari zone, Dharampeth and Ashi Nagar.
“The age of the 90% applicant shows it they may not be able to move.
So there is no point in challenging their claims.
We verify the claim of younger applicants by looking for relevant documents .
Some have uploaded their photos to show their disability.
But we don’t rule out that one or two may not have a problem, but take advantage of its benefits, “he said.
Joshi said several teams would go to these beneficiary houses and wait or live in the area for some time after managing Jab.
“In the coming days, we hope to receive more applications.
We will be able to provide 100 doses comfortably,” he said.
Meanwhile, the district recorded more than 30,000 vaccinations in 248 governments and 20 private centers when the drive was continued on Monday.
NMC and Zilla Parishad have received new vaccine stocks from the state government last week.
