Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Merchants’ Association has sought the intervention of the state authorities about the plight of shoe store owners. A press notice issued by S Manoj, secretary, Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi reported the stock bought by the retailers expecting holiday sale are becoming ruined in the stores. Approximately 25,000 stores have been staying shut in the country in the last couple of weeks. Throughout the last year’s lock , the store keepers had reported reduction value about Rs 150 crore. They had acquired loans by pledging possessions to secure the inventory that’s currently being piled up from the stores. Many things in the inventory demand routine care and due to seasonal adjustments, the whole inventory would be destroyed. The institution has sought the intervention of the state authorities in facilitating a feeling where footwear stores could function according to Covid-19 protocol.
