Joey Jordison, known as the founding member of the Hard Rock Slipknot band, has died.
He is 46 years old.
News of his death which was suddenly confirmed by his family in a statement to Billboard.
According to the report, musicians died peace in his sleep on Monday, July 26.
“Joey’s death has left us with an empty heart and an indescribable feeling of sadness.
For those who know Joey, understand his fast intelligence, his soft personality, giant hearts and love for all the family and music things,” the statement rang.
In their statement, the Jordison family also asked for privacy during this time “a very difficult time.” The next report added that the family would host a personal funeral service and had requested media and fans to respect their desires.
Joey is one of the founding members of the Grammy Winner Band who was re-formed in 1995.
However, he parted ways with Slipknot in 2013 after almost two decades.
In honor of his memory, Slipknot posted a plain black box on Instagram and did the same for their display image.
Joey was reported in medicine for a disease called Transversal Melitue, and he claimed that his band friends confused his medical problems with the problem of substance abuse.
It is not clear whether his condition has something to do with his death.
