New Delhi: The prime minister will not put the foundation stone for any national highway project where there is ongoing litigation, PMO has told the transportation and highway services.
In internal communication for all departments, the Ministry said PM could lie only if there was the availability of land and free distance from all institutions concerned.
This for the first time official direction like it comes from PMO determining the conditions for the project to be proposed for the foundation placed by PM.
According to Round, the agents concerned will be asked to ensure that funds from multilateral institutions such as the World Bank or JICA for the project are completed in advance financed by the entity.
Recently, while interacting with the Ministers, PM Narendra Modi said that the focus of the government was to complete work without delay.
“The norms have now been determined that the agency needs to get an objection certificate is not needed (NOCS) and free distance so there is no delay in implementation,” said an official.
Earlier on October 26, 2016, PM Narendra Modi had told the secretary at the center and the main secretary that he would put the foundation stone from each infrastructure project only when it was ready to take off with all permissions and there was land that was noted.
He had made this observation at a monthly prospective meeting while reviewing the slowdown of the expansion of Delhi-Meerut’s expansion.
