Nagpur: In some good news for Lonar Crater Lake in the Buldhana district, Bombur Nagpur of the Bombay High Court on Wednesday direct the Maharashtra government to establish the ‘Lonar Development Authority’ within two weeks.
The division bench consisting of Judge Sunil Shukre and Anil Kiors asked the government to issue resolution (gr) to form a body that will be led by the Commissioner of the Amravati Division.
Furthermore told to include the names of Senior Advisory Chandrashekhar Kaptan, who had become a member of the HC designated committee, and the adviser of Anand Pachure, both of which helped the court in saving the historic lake that was believed to have been formed by around 50,000 years ago due to the impact of meteorites.
Both Kaptan and Menchure refused to take remuneration when the justice kilor asked about their costs.
HC then asked the government to arrange lodging settings, dormitories, and their trips every time they visited the site.
The Commissioner was told to choose two NGOs that would be part of the authority.
The direction came while hearing the request (no 4549/2009) by lawyer Kirti Nipankar along with Govind Khekale and Sudhakar Bugdane from Bulldhana who believed that Lake Lonar was condescending and eliminating pollution.
Previously, the judges rejected the government’s advice to have a three-level system to ensure the construction of the lake where one panel would work at the other two-star level in the local.
On the other hand, the suggestions provided by the Kaptan pollution control board, Parchure and Maharashtra (MPCB), Ravi Sanyal’s advice are in principle accepted.
The three lawyers in the past demanded the development authority for the lake on the Temple Stripes Shegaon.
