Earth’s Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity runs out of natural budget for the current year.
Day is an estimated date when humanitarian demand will resources and ecological services in a certain year exceed what the earth can be updated that year.
Since that day and so on, humanity is considered to maintain a deficit for that year by accounting for ecological resource stocks and collecting waste, especially carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

In the past 30 years, human population and consumption that is increasing rapidly estimated to have spent the earth’s resources faster than the Earth can refill these resources causing the date to advance each year in a row.
