Trichy: The Institute of Information Technology India (IIIIT) Trichy, who moved to a permanent campus last month, aimed at increasing student strength of 1,200 in the next five years.
With a total of 230 students in two streams, IIIT Trichy functions on the temporary campus at Oxford Engineering College, Trichy.
IIIts are a third generation technical institution that starts specifically to serve information technology companies.
TCS, conscious, infosys, Ramco, Elcot and technology solutions are stakeholders who have 15% stake in the institution.
“Student intake cannot be increased in the absence of a permanent campus.
Now we are on a permanent campus, we will increase student intake,” Director said.
The government has given us options to start any programs related to IT and related conventional programs, he said.
