KATHMANDU: Nepal’s opposition alliance on Monday filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court demanding Recovery of the Home of Representatives and appointment with Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba as PM.
Critics of the alliance went court after President Bidya D Bhandari minding the 275-member House about the recommendations of PM K Sharma Oli From the writ, the petitionersdemanded which Deuba must be legally appointed the PM based on Article 76 (5) of this Constitution of Nepal. Their other demands include the conclusion of the statement of polls from November and also to prevent poll-related programmes under the pandemic,” it said. The petitioners noted that the dissolution has been”unconstitutional”. Around 146 members of the dissolved House have already signed the request, Kathmandu Post reported.
